The Israeli counter-tenor, David Feldman, graduated from the Music Departments of the Reut and Wizo Schools on clarinet and piano. He then studied with Rubin Weisel-Capsuto at the Rubin Music Academy, Jerusalem, and is currently studying there for his Master's degree with Bibiana Goldenthal and Zvi Zemel.
David Feldman has sung in the Rubin Academy Chamber Choir, conducted by Stanley Sperber, and was also a member of the 4play barbershop quartet and the Renaissance quartet The Prophets of the Fifth. He was one of Israel's representatives in the World Youth Choir in 2005-2006.
David Feldman won an honourable mention at the Paul Ben-Haim Competition in 2006 and first prize in the Jerusalem Music Academy's vocal competition in 2007. He was awarded a scholarship by the Buchmann-Heyman Foundation and a scholarship for excellence by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation from 2006-2008.
David Feldman performs regularly in the Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival and performed as a soloist in the Messiah (George Frideric Handel) with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, in a tribute to the Israeli singer Shoshana Damari with the Israeli Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva, in Matthäus Passion (BWV 244) by J.S. Bach and as Cupid in Venus and Adonis by John Blow with the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, and in the premiere of Dark am I by Ella- Milch Sheriff at the Israel Festival Jerusalem 2007.
In the season of 2007-2008 he will perform with the Israel Camerata Orchestra Jerusalem, Israeli Sinfonietta Beer-Sheva, Phoneix Early Music Ensemble, Barrocade, Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra, Yechiam Festival, Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival and more. |
