The German mezzo-soprano, Dominique Engler, studied singing at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf under Professor Jeanne Piland. She attended numerous master-classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Thomas Quasthoff and Matthias Goerne, among others.
During her studies, Dominique Engler performed at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf as Nonne in Bird garden, 3rd Boy/3rd Lady in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte and Dorothèe in Cendrillon and participated in the Euriade Festival in various world premieres in the field of New Music. Since the 2005, she is engaged as an alto in the Opernchor of the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, where she also performs as a soloist, including roles as 2nd Mage in Elektra, Rosalia in Eugen d'Albert's Tiefland (2010), Chambermaid in The Makropulos Case, Giovanna in Rigoletto and in various literary portraits. In addition, she is mainly active as a concert singer in the field of Baroque and church music. |
