The German counter-tenor, Friedemann Engelbert, studied at Hans-Ehrenberg-Gymnasium in Bielefeld. He studied church music at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Herford and passed there his A-exam in 1997. This was followed by a postgraduate studies in Early Music with a focus on singing at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Peter Kooy and Max van Egmond. There he also received harpsichord instruction.
From 1999 to 2003 Friedemann Engelbert held a church music post in Versmold, before he took over the Kantor office at the Kirche St. Nicolai Lemgo and since then also continues the traditional orchestral and choral work at the Marianne-Weber-Gymnasium Lemgo.
Friedemann Engelbert is a member of other vocal ensembles such as the Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), Vokalensemble ColVoc, Chorus Musicus Köln (Director: Christoph Spering), and is active as a singer, organist and harpsichordist. He currently lives in Lemgo, Germany. |
