The ensemble la Divina Armonia was founded by Lorenzo Ghielmi in 2005. All the musicians have distinguished themselves for many years in the performance of Baroque music as soloists and as musicians in several of the most reknown ensembles in this field.
The ensemble first performed for several seasons in Italy, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland. Since 2008 it has been a regular guest in important European concert seasons (Serate Musicali di Milano, Bozar Brussels, Les Arts Renaissants Toulouse, Salzburg Bach Society, Oslo Church Music Festival, Utrecht Early Music Festival, etc). La Divina Armonia works with diverse soloists, but also with vocal ensembles for certain productions.
In 2009, the ensemble gave the modern premiére of the Passio secundum Joannem (Naples 1744) by the composer Francesco Feo, rediscovered and edited by Lorenzo Ghielmi, and achieved a great recording success with this masterpiece of the Italian Baroque, performed also on a European Tour, in Oslo, Bales, Cuenca, Innsbruck, Brussels Bozar and Naples.
There have been published numerous CD-productions during the last years which received several awards - amongst others the Diapason d'or. At tnd of 2012 the recent CD of the ensemble was released on the Belgian label Passacaille: George Frideric Handel's Organ Concertos Vol. II, which received as well a Diapason d'or, as the Diapason d'année in 2013. |
