The Deutschen Bach-Vocalisten (German Bach Vocalists) were founded in 1986 as a project choir by Gerhard Weinberger and existed until the Bach year 2000. The basis of the artistic work was the preoccupation with historical performance practice, which is based on corresponding sources from the 17th and 18th centuries. Right from the start, the ensemble specialized in performances with a small, chamber music line-up, as was customary in J.S. Bach's time. In addition to the a-cappella repertoire, the ensemble soon devoted itself primarily to the large and sacred choral works of J.S. Bach, which were performed in collaboration with well-known soloists and Baroque orchestras. After a short time, the ensemble received a lot of attention and recognition in the professional world. Numerous invitations to international festivals and concert series testify to the high appreciation that the ensemble was given. |
