The Italian pianist and harpsichordist. Onofrio Della Rosa, graduated in 1983 in piano achieving full marks cum laude under the prestigious guidance of Angela Montemurro Lentini. He then perfeted his art in piano with Carlo Grante and Konstantin Bogino and vocal chamber music with Irwin Gage.
Onofrio Della Rosa has undertaken intensive career as a chamber musician and accompanist, which led him to work alongside major names such as: Carlo Chiarappa, Serge Collot, Marzio Conti, Steven Mead, Sabine Mayer, Massimo Mercelli, Michel Strauss, Romeo Tudorache, Konstantin Becker, etc. In 1997, he began studiying the field of early music for keyboards: harpsichord and basso continuo, graduating cum laude in 2003, studying with Francesco Baroni and Bob van Asperen.
Onofrio Della Rosa was continuo player of the early music ensemble "La Lyra Amphione" directed by Vito Paternoster, took part in the production of vocal and instrumental works of the 16th and 17th centuries in Spoleto - Teatro lirico sperimentale 1999: Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor (BWV 232), Pasquale Cafaro’s Stabat Mater, etc. His activity as harpsichordist has led him to collaborate with leading figures of the international concert scene, as Stefano Bagliano, David Bellugi, etc..
As a pianist, Onofrio Della Rosa has appeared in many concert halls and at at the Festival della valle d’Itria from 1999 to 2004, working with conductors such as: Marco Guidarini, Giuliano Carella, Maurizio Benini, and with Marco Gandini, Guido De Monticelli, Jean-Louis Pichon, etc.
Onofrio Della Rosa is a full professor since 1997 at the Conservatorio de Musica Ninoi Rota - Monpoli teaching piano accompaniment.
He has recorded for the KZ Musik Quatour pour la fin du temps by Olivier Messiaen and on the harpsichord, the Goldberg Variations by J.S. Bach for Digressione Contemplattiva. |
