The French conductor, Marcel Couraud, studied organ with Marchal in Paris, then enrolled in theory courses at the École Normale de Musique there. He also took lessons in composition with Boulanger and in conducting with Charles Munch.
In 1945 , Marcel Couraud formed the Marcel Couraud Vocal Ensemble, which he conducted until 1954. Then he conducted in Stuttgart. In 1967 he was appointed artistic director of the ORTF choirs in Paris. Subsequently he was founder-conductor of the Groupe Vocal de France from 1976 to 1978. |
