Coro Santa Cecilia was founded in 1992. It belongs to the Asociación Argentina de Cultura, association dependent on the Servidoras, Institución de Vida consagrada founded in 1952 by Cgo. Luis María Etcheverry Boneo, with the charisma of the Evangelización de la Cultura (Evangelization of Culture). Throughout his career, he has been heard his varied repertoire in Buenos Aires and inside the country. He participated in numerous choral meetings, toured, performed at various theaters and accompanied sacred ceremonies, sacred music concerts by composers such as W.A. Mozart, J.S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, etc. He has participated in music, folk music recitals and has made recordings of various kinds. He appeared several times under the direction of guest conductors, including Monseñor Jesús Gabriel Segade.
The choir consists of 50 choristers, most of them are not professional musicians. Notably, repeatedly, the same choir membership has encouraged its members to perfect their voices, which, after years of participation in it, some of them have turned to professional singing. The annual work is done through various ways: vocal technique, weekly rehearsals, individual essays by preparers rope and personal study of each chorister with prepared material. There are three or four presentations and concerts a year, some of them accompanied by the Orquesta de Cámara de la Asociación Argentina de Cultura.
An important work being done by the choir periodically since 1999, is to join a choral-symphonic concert with the Coro del Colegio P. L. M. Etcheverry Boneo composed of 120 girls aged 9 to 15 years. Participation Coro Santa Cecilia and the orchestra that accompanies the choir of the College enables the experience to make a major musical work of composers such as J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, etc. In its first years of existence the choir always dedicated a concert to realize benefits such as Christmas singing in hospitals, etc. However, without completely stop these activities, in recent years the choir was finding in participation in the above concerts, a proper and specific educational path of service to culture. The Director of the choir is Sarita Cafferata. |
