The American tenor, Michael J. Connaire, is known in the Hamburg music scene especially for his interpretations of the Evangelist part in J.S. Bach's Passions and works of English composers.
Michael Connaire has worked several times with the Hamburger Camerata and performed together works as W.A. Mozart's Zaide, Benjamin Britten's Nocturnes and Serenade for Horn and Tenor, and several others. Furthermore, he has appeared at all the main churches of Hamburg in the major oratorios and passions of J.S. Bach and George Frideric Handel, and at the Hamburger Musikhalle and the Glocke in Bremen in a variety of compositions by composers from J.S. Bach to John Cage.
In addition to his concert career, Michael Connaire has appeared in Stralsund and Greifswald in two tenor parts in W.A. Mozart's Entführung aus dem Serail (Belmonte and Pedrillo), and has performed at several theaters in Bremen. His repertoire also includes tenor roles from lots from Barbier, Lustige Witwe, Turn of the Screw and Alcina, as well as the roles of Alfred and Eisenstein from Die Fledermaus.
Concert tours have taken Michael Connaire not only throughout Germany (including the Berlin's Dom, the Glocke in Bremen and the Hamburger Musikhalle), but also abroad: to Slovenia, the USA and several times to Japan. |
