Le Concert Arcadien is a professional Baroque ensemble of variable size around the mezzo-soprano singer Florence Duchène. Based in Paris, the ensemblet had its inaugural concerts in October 2003 with a programme of Roman cantatas by George Frideric Handel and Antonio Caldara, written for the Accademia dell'Arcadia
This "Academie", from which the ensemble derived its name, included a circle of aristocrats, patrons and lovers of great literature and music, which organized artistic events from 1690, first literary and musical. In this context appeared among others George Frideric Handel, who created his Resurrezione and many magnificent cantatas , by Arcangelo Corelli, Alessandro Scarlatti and Domenico Scarlatti and Antonio Caldara. Le Concert Arcadien is therefore dedicated to this repertoire and any Baroque music from the late 16th to the late 18th centuries, and contemporary music, especially works composed by Florence Duchène.
During the summer of 2005, Le Concert Arcadien was received by an enthusiastic audience during his tour of five concerts in the Rhône-Alpes and in the Hérault. Press clippings: "As for the common areas, they were a pure jubilant moment for the public ..." [Dauphiné Libéré (Romans), August 15, 2005] "The church held its breath [...] . magic, strength and singing were served by a duet which reflected a perfect harmony. Karl, Zdenka and Florence [...] gave us an hour and a half eternity, outside of time ..." [Le Progrès (Trévoux), August 17, 2005] |
