The Italian cellist, Matila Colliard, was born into a musicians family, and began studying cello at the age of 4. She graduated at Novara Conservatory with highest honors. She is wiinner of many chamber music competitions (European Music Competition – Moncalieri, National Music Competition “Riviera della Verisilia” - Tuscany, “International Competion Anemos – Rome, International Music Competition “Grand Prize Virtuoso” - London. Thanks to the award “Grand Prize Virtuoso” she performed in the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. The year after she was invited to hold a concert at the Italian Culture Institute in London and in the Church of St. Martin in the Fields. In 2016 she received the “Arts and Culture Award” for the Music section.
Matila Colliard is a regular guest artists in the main Festivals and Concert Institutions of Italy and she has performed in Europe (France, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Great Britain) and in China (Beijing, Tianjn, Yangzhou, Chengdu and Harbin).
Matila Colliard recorded The Arensky Piano Trios for Brilliant Classics Label (Trio Carducci 2018). One of her most important record release is the complete recording of compositions for cello and piano by L.v. Beethoven for Da Vinci Classics’s label. (Stefano Ligoratti - pianist). She is the first Italian woman to have recorded the integral of the J.S. Bach's 6 Suites for Solo Cello BWV 1007-1012 (Da Vinci Classics 2021). The recording has obtained excellent critical consents and her executions are regularly transmitted by Radio Tre, Radio Marconi, Classic Radio, Radio Popolare and RSI (Italian Swiss radio). |
