Collegium Musicum Choir is a small chamber choir of experienced singers from Perth, Western Australia which has developed a fine reputation for authentic performances of the Baroque Period along with meticulous and beautifully crafted singing. Its repertoire consists of a wide range of virtuosic works, both choral-orchestral and a cappella.
Over the last few years Collegium Musicum has toured several times: to Japan and South East Asia in 1991, to the Australian National Choral Associations biennial conference in the Eastern States in 1993 and 2000, to Singapore in 1995 and to the World Symposium on Choral Music in 1996. At home Collegium Musicum contributes significantly to the cultural life of Western Australia through its regular performances, some of which are given under the baton of various international choral conductors of distinction. Since 1992 the choir has performed with the Western Australian Symphony Orchestra in major works from the choral repertoire and has featured in the Perth International Arts Festival.
Collegium is well known for its subscription series of concerts, especially its annual Christmas picnic concert season, which sells out to several evenings of enthusiastic audiences.
