Having made appearances throughout the USA and Europe, the American tenor, William Edward Clark, has become an audience favorite in opera, oratorio and sacred music. He has appeared with the Baltimore Opera Company, Opera Roanoke, Hudson Opera, Columbia Lyric Opera, New York's Mozart Opera Project, and the Genisius Opera Festival of Illinois. His roles include: Tamino in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflote, Camille de Rosillion in The Merry Widow, Ferrando in W.A. Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and Don Ottavio in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni. He premiered the title role of Blake by celebrated American composer, Leslie Adams.
William Edward Clark has received acclaim for his performances of Negro Spirituals and recently was a guest soloist singing Christmas spirituals in An Appalachian Christmas with Opera Roanoke with conductor, Steven White. His success with oratorio and sacred music include solo appearances at the Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury England as well as the Washington Bach Consort (Director: J. Reilly Lewis), Handel Choir of Baltimore under the baton of T. Herbert Dimmock, the Harford Choral Society and New Jersey's Essex Chorale. He has sung George Frideric Handel's Messiah, the Evangelist in J.S. Bach's St. John Passion (BWV 245), B Minor Mass (BWV 232) and many of J.S. Bach's Cantatas. |
