The American music director and keyboardist, John Austin Clark, obtained his Studied Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from Oberlin Conservatory (2001-2005); and his Master of Music degree in Performance of Early Music: Harpsichord from McGill University (2005-2007).
John Austin Clark co-founded Bourbon Baroque with the late violinist Nicolas Fortin and the summer of 2007 and serves as founding executive director the ensemble since then. He operates a private piano studio, is an active accompanist and vocal coach, directs musical theatre and opera, and performs regularly with various ensembles and equity theatre houses such as Actors Theatre of Louisville Gulfshore Playhouse in Naples, Florida, among others.
John Austin Clark is the recipient of the 2017 Young Alumni Achievement Award from his alma mater Louisville Collegiate School in Louisville, Kentucky and a recipient of a Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts Toyota Alumni Grant that he used to apprentice with harpsichord builder Yves Beaupré of Montréal, Quebec in August 2017. He performs on a variety of keyboard instruments and owns a 2017 Beaupré Italian harpsichord (Montréal, Quebec). He can be heard on the Naxos/Centaur label. He can be found online frequently performing on his social media platforms featuring engaging variety shows, musical shenanigans, and interactive "Name that Tune" games. |
