The Churpfälzische Hofcapelle is a Baroque orchestra on historical instruments. It was founded by Matthew Peacaman, who died in September 2008. The ensemble has set itself the task of interpreting and performing the solo, chamber and orchestral music of the early 17th to 19th centuries, taking into account the musical conditions of the time.
The Churpfälzische Hofcapelle has set itself the goal of considering questions of musical affects and articulation, improvisation, old moods and tempos, as well as the cultural, sociological and political conditions of these eras. This creates the conditions for stylish performances that are based on the depth of historical understanding and at the same time give the music immediate musical and emotional relevance - a historically informed, modern authenticity.
Each individual member of the Churpfälzische Hofkapelle has specialized in the various playing techniques that are part of mastering the old instruments and help to get closer to an expressive, stylish style of playing. The ensemble current directors are Judith & Wolfgang Portugall. |
