The Swiss soprano, Dorothea Christ, began studying the violin at the age of 4 years and the piano at 5 years. In 1984, she entered the Conservatory of her hometown, in the singing class of Rudolf Hartmann. Parallel to her studies of piano, steering and body expression, she obtained her teaching singing diploma in 1990 in the class of J. Mengedoth. Until 1993 she perfected her voice with Barbara Martig-Tüller.
As a performer, Dorothea Christ has directed choral ensembles, participated in several shows as a soloist, both on stage and in concert. In 1992 she created the comic duo "les Tatovs". She was involved in developing a performance of voice and dance presented in Switzerland, France and Belgium. She has a special interest in contemporary music and improvisation.
Dorothea Christ teaches singing at the Conservatoire de Lausanne and in various institutions. She made experiments in the field of music therapy and led workshops with physiotherapists in a search for links between body and voice. |
