The Italian choral conductor and organist, Giacomo Carniti, graduated in Gregorian chant and sacred music at the Pontificio Istituto Ambrosiano di Musica Sacra in Milan with a diploma thesis on organs and organ builders of the Diocese of Crema.
Giacomo Carniti has been for years passionate and knowledgeable leader of liturgical chant in the Cattedrale di Crema both as a singer who organist. He is president of the Commissione Diocesana di Musica per la liturgia. In 1977, he founded the Coro Pregarcantando, Crema that he still directs. In November 2004, he performed the oratorio Judicium Salomonis by M. A. Charpentier in the third centenary of the death.
for many years Giacomo Carniti was a member of the choir Nova Schola Gregoriana, appearing in Italy and abroad. In 1999 he founded the Coro S.Girolamo in the parish of Passarera where he currently serves as pastor. With this choir has recorded CD’s of popular secular and sacred songs. |
