Roman Cantieni (Organ)

Born: February 24, 1944 - Chur, Switzerland
Died: September 15, 2018 - Chur, Switzerland

The Swiss organist, Roman Cantieni, received his Diploma education for organ, voice and piano school in Zürich. He also studied in the organ class of Anton Heiller in Vienna. He received his Diploma concert of the Basel Music Academy in the class of Eduard Müller. He attended master-classes for organ and harpsichord with Anton Heiller, Marie-Claire Alain, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Gustav Leonhardt, Harald Vogel and others. He is winner of the International Competition of Bologna.

From 1970, Roman Cantieni was music teacher in Chur, Switzerland. He also gave courses in He gave numerous concerts in Salt Lake City, Venioce and other places. Switzerland and abroad, particiupasterd in radio and television programs and recordings of the organ on various historical keyboard instruments in Switzerland. He was expert in new construction and organ restorations. He participation in the complete organ works of J.S. Bach in 1985 for Dischi Eco label.
