The French choral conductor and singer, Matthieu Cabanès, studied singing at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (2002-2006), where he obtained his advanced diploma.
With regular choir experience as a permanent member of the Chœur de Radio France (since June 2007), Matthieu Cabanès has directed various vocal ensembles for more than 20 years. He began directing the Petits Chanteurs de St Laurent in Paris from 1998 to 2001. Subsequently, he directed the male vocal ensemble Pastorem from 1999 to 2005 (300 concerts). He is Kapellmeister of Saint-Thomas d'Aquin (since September 2003) and Notre Dame d'Auteuil (September 2011-December 2022) in Paris. Every summer since 2009, he has prepared the choir for the “Autour des Cordes” festival in Figeac. In August 2012, he created the Ensemble Vocal Sul Fiato, made up of good-level singers and readers. In addition, he is director of Ensemble Vocal "l'Octuor" in Seine-Saint-Denis (since August 2017) and Chorale mixte de Saint Gratien in Saint-Gratien, Val-d'Oise (since August 2017). He is also Musical Director of the Orchestre Helios (since December 2021) and works with various other orchestras.
Passionate about vocal art, since 2003 Matthieu Cabanès has shared his training as a solo singer with his students, members or not of his different groups. He currently lives in Épinay-sur-Seine, France. |
