Chursächsische Capelle Leipzig (Instrumental Ensenble) |
Founded: 1994 - Leipzig, Germany |
The Chursächsische Capelle Leipzig (= CCL) was founded in the summer of 1994 by members of the Leipzig Gewandhaus and Halle Händel Festival orchestras and freelance musicians. The ensemble devotes itself exclusively to vocal and instrumental works of the 17th and 18th centuries and plays on original instruments or authentic copies. It has given coocerts with such artists as Peter Schreier, Jennifer Smith and Michael Chance. The musicians have set themselves the task of systematically rediscovering and performing unpublished instrumental works of Middle German Baroque music. |
