The Gereman tenor and former boy alto, Friedemann Büttner, was born into a Kantor family in Brandenburg, where he was taught in music early. At the age of 10 he became a member of the world-famous Dresdner Kreuzchor as a boy alto and was also singing solo parts soon. He became a tenor and studied singing in Berlin and Oslo, taking lessons from Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Ingrid Bjoner.
Since finishing his studying Friedemann Büttner is a freelance singer. He has already sung in importand concert halls in Europe and USA together with the conductors Walter Weller, Hans-Christoph Rademann and Philippe Herreweghe, and ensembles such as the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Akamus Berlin and the Orchestre de Champs Elisees Paris.
Friedemann Büttner sings all epoches and genres of classical music, including oratoios by J.S. Bach, Heinrich Schütz, George Frideric Handel, Felix Mendelssohn, L.v. Beethoven and Frank Martin, but also compositions by Luciano Berio and Messiaen Bach, and oipera roles as Ferrando, Ottavio and Tamino in W.A. Mozart’s operas, René in Leo Fall’s Pompadour, Ehemann in Paul Hindemith’s Hin und zurück and Principe in Una cosa rara by Martin y Soler. |
