The German baritone, Andreas Burkhart, received his musical training as an alto soloist with the Tölzer Knabenchor. In preparation for his vocal studies, which he began in 2005 at the Munich Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Frieder Lang, he was a member of the Bavarian Singing Academy, as a vocal pupil of Hartmut Elbert, who continues to instruct him to this day. He attended art song classes given by Professor Helmut Deutsch, Fritz Schwinghammer, Professor Siegfried Mauser and Professor Celine Dutilly. He also completed master classes with Professor Andreas Schmidt and received further impulses at master-classes given by Matthias Goerne and Christian Gerhaher. He was a scholarship student supported by the "Hans and Eugenia Jütting Foundation" of the "German Theatre Society" and has been sponsored since 2009 by LiveMusicNow. He is also a prize winner at the Federal Vocal Competition in Berlin, the Song Recital Competition sponsored by the Gasteig Cultural Society, the Mendelssohn Competition of the German Music Academies.
During his studies, Andreas Burkhart appeared in a number of productions at the Bavarian August Everding Theatre Academy, working repeatedly with Ulf Schirmer and the Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphonieorchester, singing such roles as Andrej in Péter Eötvös' Tri Sestri which he also sang in Berlin at the State Opera in the Schilller Theatre . He also appeared with the Munich Chamber Opera as Trinidad in Disloyalty Doesn't Pay! Or Maybe it Does and as Truffaldino in The Servant of Two Masters in a production staged by Dominik Wilgenbus.
In the concert area Andreas Burkhart's repertoire extends from J.S. Bach's Oratorios and Cantatas to Felix Mendelssohn's St. Paul and Orff's Carmina Burana. This brought him together regularly with the Oratorio Choruses in Munich and Ulm. He has also appeared as a soloist with the Bach Academy of Stuttgart under Hansjörg Albrecht and as a guest soloist at the Beethoven Festival in Bonn, where he preformed a song recital with pianist Eric Schneider. He has been a member of the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks since 2011. He currently lives in Munich, Germany. |
