The American soprano, Anya Burkart Roberts, obtained her Bachelor of Science degrees in with Physics and German (double major) from Creighton University in Omaha in 2011. She was one of two Creighton University students to receive a prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship in 2010. Other honors & awards include: INBRE Scholar, DAAD Rise Summer Research Internship to study in Germany, Creighton University Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship for Women in Science, C. Bertrand and Marian Othmer Schultz Collegiate Scholarship (NAS), Schultz Memorial Collegiate Scholarship. She currently studies for her Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge (2012-2018).
Anya Burkart has worked as Biomechanics Teaching Assistant at MIT (February-May 2014); Graduate Resident Tutor (GRT) at MIT (since August 2013); Founding Team Member and Writer of Synapse: the MIT Biotech Report (since Sepember 2015). She married Eric Roberts on September 24, 2016 and currently lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a member of the First Lutheran Church Choir in Boston. |
