Adolf Bruk (Violin, Conductor)

Born: 1931 - Moscow, Russia (former USSR)

The Russian violinist and conductor, Adolf Bruk [Bruck], graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and studied with Professor Abram Yampolsky, the Soviet Union’s leading violin teacher.

Adolf Bruk was the Concertmaster of the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra, as well as the Music Director and Conductor of the Bolshoi Theater Chamber Orchestra, and has recorded with them and with the leading singers of that time, Irina Arkhipova, Galina Borisova, Valentina Levko, Evgenii Nesterenko, and Elena Obraztsova are among them.

Since 1980, Arnold Bruk has occupied the position of Associate Concertmaster of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. He was also a Concertmaster of Festival of Masses in San Francisco, under the button of Maestro Robert Shaw, and was praised by later as an “outstanding musician.”

Adolf Bruk has also been active in the area as a soloist and chamber player as well as traveling around the world as conductor. In 1983 he lived in San Francisco, California. Since 2001, he lives in Berkeley, California, where he teaches privately.
