The German-Mexican baritone, Rafael Bruck, studied music education and Romance studies in Freiburg. He then studied opera and concert singing at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Mario Hoff and Johannes Martin Kränzle and completed his concert exam with distinction. He received further impetus in master-classes with Hedwig Fassbender, Diane Forlano, Marjana Lipovšek, Götz Payer, Rudolf Piernay and Wolfram Rieger. In 2009 he was a finalist at the Paula-Salomon-Linberg-Wettbewerbs "Das Lied" and in 2010 was awarded with the Thomas-Wiese-Förderpreis. At the Internationalen Musikwettbewerb Köln 2011 he received a special award in the category of singing.
Rafael Bruck made his debut in 2010 with the title role of Viktor Ullmann's Der Kaiser von Atlantis at the Städtischen Bühnen Münster. In the same year he jumped into the role of Anselm for the premiere of Franz Schreker's Irrelohe at Theater Bonn. In 2011 he appeard in Münster as Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, sang in Solingen and Remscheid the role of Schaunard in Puccini's La Bohème and was a member of the Young Ensemble at the Musiktheater im Revier Gelsenkirchen, where among others, he sang Baron Douphol in La Traviata by G. Verdi, the Hunter in Rusalka by A. Dvořák and the second Nazarene in Salome by R. Strauss.
Rafael Bruck has worked in professional ensembles with renowned conductors such as Rolf Beck, Michael Gielen, Helmuth Rilling and Peter Schreier. As a concert soloist, he performs regularly important parts of his voice.
Rafael Bruck has been engaged for the season 2012-2013 as a permanent member of the Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and has sung there already such roles as Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro, Fluth in Otto Nicolai's Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor and Lescaut in Massenet's Manon. |
