The Vrazilian pianist, Ana Cláudia Brito, studied piano in Brasilia with Neusa France and Joel Bello Soares. She has Master in Music from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas and Master in piano performance from the Royal Holloway University of London, where she was under the guidance of the Russian pianist Sergei Dukachev.She received first place at competition for professor of the Escola de Música de Brasília, where she studied for two years. In Spain, she won first place at the competition of XI Curso Internacional d’Interpretació Muscial, in Girona, being selected by the L'Empordà Orchestra to perform in the final concert of the festival.
Ana Cláudia Brito performs as recitalist, chamber musicician and soloista with orchestras, having appeared in Brazilian halls such as Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Sala São Luís, Masp, Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro and also in the USA. and Europe. As a soloist shae played under the baton od renowned conductors in countries as Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Cuba, USA and England. In 1999, with the Orquestra de Córdoba conducted by Elena Herrera, she recorded her first CD for the Spanish label Lindoro, the concertos for piano and orchestra of the Italian composer Nino Rota (second world-wide performance) and of Armenian Aram Khachaturian. The CD, already in second edition, got excellent critical reviews in Madrid journals and specialized magazines, as Scherzo, Suono and Gramophone. Recently, she recorded a CD for Lindoro, titled Inspirations from Baroque, with works for solo piano of Bach-Busoni, L.v. Beethoven, César Franck, Alfredo Casella and Heitor Villa-Lobos.
Since 1992, Ana Cláudia Brito has been guest teacher for piano and chamber music at the Curso Internacional de Verão de Brasília. |
