Under the Kirche Unser Lieben Frauen is Bremen's oldest accessible room: the St. Vitus Kapelle. With the first Gregorian chorals that sounded there around 1020, boys and young men founded the tradition of boys' choir singing to Unser Lieben Frauen. This tradition undoubtedly ran through the centuries and has lost none of its fascination 1000 years later, and brought the committment to the singers of today's Knabenchor Unser Lieben Frauen.
Founded in September 1945 by Harald Wolff, they have sung to the hearts of countless people in hundreds of services, choir vespers and large oratorio concerts. In addition, concert tours took the choir across Europe. Building on their enthusiasm for living traditional care, the boys are interested in a modern combination of high artistic and educational standards: ambitious rehearsals and an intense sense of community - these are the two pillars of today's choir training. |
