Barockorchester Bremen (Baroque Orchestra)

Founded: 1990 - Bremen, Germany

The Barockorchester Bremen (Bremen Baroque Orchestra), founded in 1990 on the initiative of Thomas Albert, draws on a membership comsisting mostly of graduates of the Academy of Early Music in Bremen. One of the leading German Baroque orchestras, it has achieved a high measure of renown with its numerous concerts, radio broadcasts, and CD productions. Its repertoire includes classics of the 17th century (Arcangelo Corelli, Antonio Vivaldi) as well as orchestral music by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, and Georg Philipp Telemann.
