The American choral conductor, tenor and music pedagogue, Joseph Edward Bolin, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Voice and Opera from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale (1996-2001); and his Master of Music degree in Music Performance, Choral Conducting from The University of Texas at Austin (2009-2011). He earned a Doctor of Musical in Choral Conducting at The University of Texas at Austin (2013; Dissertation: The Chorale Cantatas of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Their Connection to the Style and Legacy of J.S. Bach in the Context of German Historicism).
Joseph Bolin has more than 20 years of experience as educator, worship pastor, conductor and performer. Churches served include First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida; and Sevier Heights Baptist Church, Knoxville Tennessee. He was the pastor of worship and arts at Bannockburn Church in Austin, Texas (July 2008-July 2016), where he oversaw all music and media programming/staff. He was also a lecturer in conducting and associate director of choral activities at the University of Texas at Austin's Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music (2010-2016). In August 2016, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Music and Dean of the Shelby and Ferne Collinsworth School of Music at California Baptist University in Riverside.
Joseph Bolin has sung with groups such as the Santa Fe Opera, Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra, San Antonio Choral Society and The University of Texas at Austin, Chamber Singers. He currently lives in Riverside, California. |
