The Russian pianist, Rimma Bobritskaya [Bobritskaja], began studying the piano with her mother and at the age of 8 she played L.v. Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 with an orchestra. At 13 she entered the Moscow School of Music and in 1955, at 18, was admitted to the Moscow Conservatorv where she studied with the celebrated Heinrich Neuhaus, graduating in 1964.
In the same year, 1964, Rimma Bobritskaya began her career as a concert pianist which took her on tours throughout the USSR. Her extremely large repertoire extends from J.S. Bach and rhe pre-classical composers to concemporaries like Schnittke, Edison Denisov, Sidelnikov, Sofia Gubaidulina, by way of Cimarosa, Haydn, W.A. Mozart. L.v. Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, Johannes Brahmss, Tchaikovsky, Béla Bartók and the 20th century Russian Classics, Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich.
Rimma Bobritskaya has made several recordings in the USSR. Since 1991, she lives and performs in Germany. |
