The American mezzo-soprano, Virginia Lile Boaz, received her Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music from Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. She continued her studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) where she received her MDiv/CM and her DMA in Vocal Performance. While at SBTS, she received the Vocal Recital of the Year Award, the Church Music Drama Award and the Jay W. Wilkey Vocal Artist of the Year Award.
Virginia Lile Boaz has had extensive professional experience in both opera and concert venues in Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Indiana, Ohio and Florida. She studied voice with Dr. Milburn Price, Dr. Mozelle Sherman and Marilyn Mims, and conducting with Dr. John H. Dickson.
Virginia Lile Boaz is Professor of Music and Vocal Coordinator in the ETBU School of Fine Arts. Prior to her appointment here, she served as Adjunct Professor and Instructor of Voice, Diction, and Music History at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. |
