Demanding choral music from the Renaissance to modern times forms the broad repertoire of the vocal ensemble Belcanto Bern. The ensemble was founded in 1998 by enthusiastic lay singers in Bern and, under the direction of Jörg Ulrich Busch, has developed into a body of music that regularly performs in Switzerland at a high level.
Every year, at least one project with a cappella choral music and a Bach-Vesper are performed at the Berner Barockzentrum and at Zürich's Fraumünster. In co-operation with other musicians and formations they arise diverse programs, for example with the Baroque orchestra Le Buisson Prospérant, the pianist Simon Bucher, the marimba virtuoso Katarzyna Myćka, the percussionist Fritz Hauser, the tinker Núria Sanromà Gabàs, the Zurich Fraumünster-Chor and the vocal ensemble Novantiqua Bern.
The ensemble works flexibly with 30 to 35 singers. |
