Univocale is a choir ensemble conducted by Christoph Dominik Ostendorf and composed of music-enthusiast students of virtually all Berlin universities. The formation of this ensemble varies depending on the nature of each project and in generally constitutes of 25-35 singers.
Since its foundation (2009) the choir has taken part into several and diverse musical projects including, for instance, operatic performances in Rheinsberg and at the Opera Heimathafen in Neukölln (Berlin), which enabled the development of its broad musical repertoire.
Univocale has already traveled twice to Moscow and Volgograd (2009 and 2012) for two succesful concert tours sponsored by and in cooperation with the ‘Partnerschaft Wolgograd’, led by the Kirchenkreises of Teltow-Zehlendorf. In such a context Univocale has also acted as a host in several Berlin's events such as, for instance, joint concerts together with the Choir of the Orthodox University of Volgograd (2011) and the Boys Choir Kamerton (October 2013).
Each project of Univocale focuses on a specific theme characterized by stylistic, thematic, and geographical features. |
