I Bei Legami is a chamber ensemble dedicated to the promotion of the masterpieces of the musical art, with particular regard to the pages of ancient literature. The group's name refers to the first number of the collection Scherzi musicale by the famous composer Claudio Monteverdi, entitled I bei bondi, a work that was published in Venice in 1607.
The chamber ensemble was born in Pisa in 2014 from the intention of some professionals to want to create a vocal group capable of tackling and performing, following a historically informed practice, the European sacred and profane repertoire of the 16th and 17th centuries. From the deepening of this project and from the acclaim received, a second instrumental nucleus arose next to this first entirely vocal nucleus, allowing the ensemble in its entirety to broaden the musical perspectives up to the Baroque and classical periods. I Bei Legami are therefore made up of two ensembles, assuming from time to time the vocal and/or instrumental form according to the needs of the repertoire through which each component is valued both economically and artistically.
The promoted concerts feature the execution of numerous pages of ancient music and have received particular appreciation for their interpretative punctuality and executive brilliance. The ensemble is regularly invited to various festivals and reviews, such as Sound of stones organized by Auser Musici with the participation of ensembles such as Odhecaton, Aurora Ensemble, La Reverdie; in 2019 he inaugurated the International Festival Sagra Musicale Lucchese and made his debut at the Teatro dei Rassicurati di Montecarlo in Lucca. |
