The German baritone, Christian Noel Bauer, obtained his Bachelor of Music degree in Opera singing from the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe (2016-2020). He is studying for his Master of Music degree in Singing at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe in the class of Professor Friedemann Röhlig. He supplemented his training in master-classes with Brigitte Fassbaender and Regina Werner-Dietrich, among others, with lessons from Armin Kolarczyk and in a production of excerpts from La Bohéme under Peter Konwitschny as Schaunard. Even before studying singing, he won state and national prizes in the Wettbewerb "Jugend musiziert" in the solo and duo categories. He is a prize-winner of the Internationalen Gesangswettbewerbs der Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg in 2019 and 2021. He was awarded the Bayreuth Scholarship by the Richard Wagner-Verband Karlsruhe in 2023.
During his bachelor's degree at the Opernschule der HfM Karlsruhe, Christian Noel Bauer sang and acted, among others, as Papageno in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Alidoro in La Cenerentola and Otto Lampe in The Great Song Competition of the Heidehasen and in children's operas. In concert performances in Heidenheim he sang the two G.F. Handel roles: Polyphemus in Acis and Galatea and Time in The Triumph of Time and Truth. In the recent past he was a concert soloist J.S. Bach's Weihnachts-Oratorium BWV 248 in the Weinbrennersaal in Baden-Baden, in Gabriel Fauré's Requiem in Offenburg and in Rastatt in George Frideric Handel's Dettinger Te Deum with the Karlsruher Barockorchester. Numerous cantatas and oratorios are part of his core repertoire.
During his master's degree, Christian Noel Bauer took part as a soloist in numerous professional opera productions. In December 2021, he made his debut in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel und Gretel as Father / Peter Besenbinder at the at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg. In August 2022, he was a soloist at the Academy of the Confidencen Baroque Festival in Stockholm. Role debuts as Ottokar and Kilian in Freischütz at the Schlossfestspielen Ettlingen followed in the summer of 2023. His solo debut at the Badisches Staatstheater will follow in spring 2024 as Hermann/Schlemihl in Les contes d'Hoffmann. He currently lives in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg. |
