The Russian baritone, Pavel Baransky, graduated in from Kiev Conservatory (National Music Academy of Ukraine named after Tchaikovsky), where he had studied under Professor Nikolay Kondratyuk. He received training at Zürich Opera Theatre (2004-2005). He is winner of Grand Prix at International contest for opera singers in Beeskow (Germany, 2000), shortlisted in BBC contest in Cardiff (Wales, 2000), shortlisted in Placido Domingo’s “Operalia” contest (2003), MRP’s soloist.
In 2004 Pavel Baransky made his debut with Hamburg State Opera as Eugene Onegin, later took on leading parts: Yeletsky in Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades, Belcore in Donizzetti’s L'elisir d'amore, Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, Mister Flint in Benjamin Britten’s Billy Budd, Germont in Verdi’s La Traviata, and more. He performed as guest singer: in the USA (Сarnegie Hall) sung Manfredo from Montemezzi’s L'amore dei tre re; in the Netherlands - Yeletsky from Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of Spades. He has also appeared in Tchaikovsky’s Mazepa, Sergei Rachmaninov’s Aleko, and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Kashchei the Deathless (Prince).
Pavel Baransky’s solo recitals were held in the Congress Hall of UNESCO headquarters (France, Paris 2010) as part of Russia’s Year in France, in Lille (France), and across Russia (Moscow, Tver, Vladimir, Ekaterinburg, Smolensk, etc). He took part in the festivals “Opera Empire” (project of Moscow Government), Oxford festival (Ireland, role of Tomáš in Smetana’s Hubička), “La Folle Journée” in Nantes (France), in Tokyo (Japan). He has beebn soloist soloist with Moscow Regional Philharmonic since October 2018.
Pavel Baransky has collaborated with renowned conductors: Vladimir Jurowski, Vasily Petrenko, Vasily Sinaisky, Louis Bakalov, Carlo Rizzi, Edo de Waart, Nello Santi, Eve Queler, Simone Young, Nikolay Alekseyev, Adrian Lucas, Nikolas Kok, Dmitry Liss, and others.
