The French mezzo-soprano/contralto, Corinne Bahuaud, discovered the singing with the Maîtrise de la Perverie and the Opéra de Nantes. She studied Musicology at the Université de Tours, where she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree; she pursued her vocal training at the CNR d'Angers in Yves Sotin class where she obtained her DEM; then entered a cycle of further training in the Class of Alain Buet at the ENM d'Alençon. She is currently studying early music at the CNR de Paris in the classes of Sophie Boulin, Howard Crook and Kenneth Weiss.
As a choir singer and soloist, Corinne Bahuaud regularly performs with the Ensemble Vocal de Nantes, "Méliades, Voix au Féminin", Choeur de Radio France, Chœur de l'Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire, Choeur de Chambre de Namur (Director: Jean Tubéry), Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Les Arts Florissants (Director: William Christie), and in an early repertoire with the Musiciens du Paradis or A Sei Voci. She sings in Festivals such as the Chaise Dieu, Ambronnay, Les Folles Journées de Nantes, Festival de la Prée, Viva Voce ...
Trained as much in the Renaissance and Baroque repertoires as in the field of contemporary music, Corinne Bahuaud participates in many creations, notably with the Ensemble Mikrokosmos (Director: Loïc Pierre), with whom she recorded "Les Chants de Terre et de Guerre", a compilation of contemporary works by such composers as Veljo Tormis, Thierry Machuel, and Philippe Hersant. She has also created works by Thierry Pécou at the Abbaye de Fontevrault, Nicolas Bacri at La Chapelle du Val de Grâce and was also soloist: Human Dream, a work for mezzo solo, children choir and harp by Thierry Machuel, "Oeuvres sacrées d'Henri Dumont" with the Choeur de Chambre de Namur,"Creatures by Bruno Regnier with Mikokosmos and Le X'tet. |
