Renamed: 1972 as Concertkoor Baarn |
Concertkoor Baarn is a choir with about 50 singers with a good atmosphere. Taking care of two beautiful concerts a year is their goal. The concerts take place in different church buildings in Baarn and Soest. At the concerts Concertkoor Baarn works together with (amateur) orchestras and professional soloists. The large classical choral works, but also lesser-known works were on the program in the long history of the choir. Concertkoor Baarn has its own sound and presentation, so that every concert is a new experience.
The history of Concertkoor Baarn goes back to 1898. A group of people in Baarn started singing classical music in that year. They called themselves 'Hallelujah'. In 1936 the name was changed to Christelijke Oratorium Vereniging Baarn and in 1995 in Concertkoor Baarn. The Director of choir from 1972 to 2018 was Thijs Kramer and since 2018 Anthony Scheffer. |
