The Israeli-born soprano, Einat Aronstein, graduated in from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music where she studied under Efrat Ben-Nun. She has been a recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Awards for Outstanding Musical Performance since 2008 and has received scholarships from the Israel Vocal Arts Institute Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. She won first prize at The Buchmann-Mehta Vocal Competition, won the Atle Vestersjø Young Talent Award at the 3rd International Singing Competition for Baroque Opera Pietro Antonio Cesti in Innsbruck, Austria. In addition, she was awarded the second prize at the Concorso Lirico Città di Magenta in Italy and the audience prize at the Concours International de Chant des Châteaux en Médoc 2013 in Bordeaux, France. Most recently, she won the first prize and the audience prize with her Baroque ensemble, Ensemble Arava, at the International Competition for Concert Presentation in Frankfurt, Germany.
Einat Aronstein started out as a chorister with the Moran choir and the Moran Vocal Ensemble, with whom she performed extensively nationwide and abroad. They sang in productions with the Israeli Opera such as La Bohème (Puccini), Georges Bizet's Carmen, Werther (Massenet), Turandot (Puccini) and Tosca (Puccini). Her first operatic roles as a soloist with the Israeli Opera include Orit in W.A. Mozart's The Little Magic Flute, the Shepherd Boy in Tosca (Puccini), Hänsel in Engelbert Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, the Girl in A Crescent Moon Tale (Shenhav) and Knabe in W.A. Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. She later sang the role of Bastienne in a youth opera production of W.A. Mozart's Bastien und Bastienne.
Some of her recent roles were The Dead Child in the world premiere of A Child Dreams after Hanoch Levin (Gil Shohat), Belinda in Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Valencienne in Die lustige Witwe (Lehár), Zerlina in W.A. Mozart's Don Giovanni and Gretel in E. Humperdinck's Hänsel und Gretel, the latter three produced by the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv. Her theatre appearances include various roles in the operas And the Rat Laughed and Fly Away (Milch-Sheriff) and Badenheim 1939 (Shohat) in the Cameri Theatre, Tel Aviv.
Some of her latest appearances include: The title role in Else (Josef Tal) in the Museum of Modern Art in Salzburg; Die Erste Frau in Baruch's Schweigen (Sheriff) at Stadttheater Fürth, Germany as well as at the Festival EntArteOpera in Vienna; Eva in der Garten (Josef Tal); Das Mädchen in Gespräch mit einem Stein (Sheriff) at the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and at Théâtre d’Esch, Luxemburg.
Einat Aronstein has sung as a soloist with orchestras including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and all other major orchestras in Israel, Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Barrocade Ensemble and the Jerusalem Baroque Orchestra under such conductors as Zubin Mehta, Christian Zacharias, Dan Ettinger, David Stern, Ariel Zuckermann, Rumon Gamba, Avner Biron, Sándor Gyudi, James Judd, Walter Kobera, Yishai Steckler, David Sebba, Stanley Sperber, Mendy Rodan, John Nelson, Eitan Globerson, Yaron Gottfried, Uri Leshmann, Malcolm Singer, Doron Salomon, Barak Tal, David Shemer, Piers Maxim, Marino Formenti. As a Lied singer, she has collaborated with some of Israel’s most renowned pianists, among whom Arie Vardi is most notable, and has given recitals in The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, France, Spain, Poland, China and Vietnam. She has performed in international festivals including The Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik in Austria, Festival Classique den Haag, The Netherlands and Aldeburgh Festival in England, with Christian Zacharias conducting.
Future engagements including the main role in the opera der Goldene Drache by Péter Eötvös with Zsolt Nagy conducting and concert with Ensemble Arava in the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Austria. Next Season (2019-2020) she will join the Ensemble of Theater Trier where she will be singing roles such as Musetta, Susanna and Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier). |
