The Belgian pianist, Sonia Anschütz, was a child podigy: when she was 5 she gave her first radio recital; 3 years later she played W.A. Mozart's D minor Concerto with orchestra for a thrilled and enthusiastic audience. At the Royal Conservatory of Music in Brussels Marcel Maas, Jean Absil and Marcel Quinert became her teachers and she finished her studies with the famaous Hungarian pianist Annie Fischer.
Since 1948, Sonia Anschütz gave countless concerts in France, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal. She also made frequent tours with her celebrated countryman Arthur Grumiaux, the violinist.
Sonia Anschütz recorded for Iramac the first part of "Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann" by J.S. Bach. It was the first time this work appeared on record. |
