The Russia-born soprano, Marina Andreeva [Andreyeva], graduated from the Russian Gnessin’s Academy of Music in Moscow. She then studied for one year at the Vienna Opera House, the Champs Elysees Hall in Paris and the Berlioz Music Center in Montpelier, which earned her the praise and respect of accomplished music professionals and audience alike.
Marina Àndreeva is promising young singer whose career is rapidly on upraise. Her striking voice boasts beautiful color and timbre. Acclaimed as an extraordinary actress, she has appeared on stage, in concert and on radio and TV in a great variety of roles encompassing the opera repertoire, contemporary works and musical theater. She is currently engaged at the Moscow State Helicon Opera and is also a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic Society.
In March 2000, Marina Andreeva appeared at the Beiteddine Festival in Lebanon, and in July she was invited by Radio France to participate in the Montpelier Music Festival. Next summer she also gave a triumphant performance together with maestro Mstislav Rostropovich at the Evian Music Festival in France. According to French critics, Marina Andreeva is a vivacious and radiant soprano with Russian flair and international appeal.
Her vast repertoire, which continues to grow throughout her career, includes compositions by W.A. Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Igor Stravinsky, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and others. It includes operatic arias, chamber vocal music, art and folk songs, compositions for voice and instrumental accompaniment and arias from operettas. Andreeva has recently sung the roles of Tatyana and Maria in Tchaikovsky’s Eugeny Onegin and Mazepa, Marfa and the Shemakhan Queen in N. Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride and Le Coq d’Or, Olympia in Offenbach’s Tales of Hoffmann at Helicon Opera, Lulu in Alban Berg’s Lulu. |
