The Canadian mezzo-soprano, Kristina Alexander, obtained her Diploma in Music, Music and Recording Arts from the Prairie Bible College (2004-2007); her Bachelor of Music degree in Voice and Opera from the University of Lethbridge (2007-2010); her Masters in Music degree in Voice Performance from the University of Ottawa (2010-2012)); and her Advanced Certificate in Performance, Voice Performance from the University of Toronto (2012-2013). She is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Voice Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Toronto with Daniel Taylor (2013-2017).
Based in Toronto, Kristina Alexander's recent appearances include the role of the Sorceress in Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra's summer production of Dido and Aeneas, as well as the role of Second Witch in the same opera with Theatre of Early Music last year. Her performances include work with Metro Youth Opera, Tapestry Opera, The National Youth Choir (2010, 2012), The Canadian Opera Company Chorus (December 2013-Present), Opera Canada Chorus and The Canadian Chamber Choir.
A busy performer and teacher, Kristina Alexander has been Teaching Assistant at the University of Ottawa (September 2010-May 2012); Voice and Piano Instructor at Long and McQuade (January 2011- Present); Teaching Assistant at the University of Toronto (September 2013-Present). She maintains a private studio and is a voice instructor at Canada Christian College. |
