The University of Akron Concert Choir, conducted by Samuel Gordon, has been invited twice in recent years to perform at prestigious choral festivals throughout Italy.
The University of Akron Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Ronn Cummings, and comprises 60 members. It performs a full season of concerts on and off campus. Its most recent performance was at E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall in a special program that featured a lecture by Keith Lockhart, conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra.
The University of Akron Concert Choir, University of Akron Symphony Orchestra and the University of Akron Symphonic Band were the featured performers on April 21, 2003 at Shining at Severance, a concert at Cleveland's famed Severance Hall. The three ensembles include nearly 170 UA students. |
