The Chilean soprano/mezzo-soprano, Carolina Acuña Barre, attended the career of Musical Interpretation with mention in Sing in The University of Chile, under the tutelage of the teacher Carmen Luisa Letelier. Later, between years 1993 and 1998, she participated in the opera season of the Santiago’s Municipal Theater, where she took part in plays like Elixir d´amore by Gaetano Donizetti and Madame Butterfly by G. Puccini, among others. In the same Institution she continued her studies of technique and opera inter-pretation with the teacher, Ms. Mª Elena Guíñez, soprano of international trajectory. In addition, she participated as a soloist and vocal instructor in the Madrigalista’s Choir of the Metropolitan University of Santiago, carrying out tours and musical competitions in Argentina, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil and Uruguay.
Since 2000, Carolina Acuña integrates the Camerata Vocal of the University of Chile; a professional crew conformed by 16 voices, dedicated mainly to the study and diffusion of the chamber music, and with the Symphony Orchestra of Chile has under their charge the realization of the season of concerts of the University of Chile’s Theater. |
