About the artist:
Nota Koslowsky (Polish/American, b 1906) Painter, designer, engraver, and illustrator. Lived and active in New York. Koslowsky is celebrated for his remarkable paintings of people and places in modern Israel. They have been received with acclaim by both critics and public wherever they have been shown.
Nota was a wondeful artist with bio/auction listings in Who was Who (Falk-1975), Artprice, and Davenport and probably other places. Also, he has several references to him in Google for his work illustrating children's books. He had the same famous artist teachers that many did as he lived in NYC - such as Olinsky, Dumond, etc; plus he was trained in Poland before coming to the USA before WW2. He lived most of his life in NYC.; where he was a painter, designer, engraver, illustrator, etc. He has an 11 line listing in Who was Who in American Art (Vol 2, p.1894) and listings in Davenport, etc showing his many gallery exhibitions held all over the USA. Like a lot of folks, he was a lot more famous 40 years ago than now. |
