Type: |
Bach Painting |
Title: |
Interpretation of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor |
Description: |
Neil Harbisson met a fellow student at a university in England, this student got together with a Slovenian software developer to create and finetune a gadget that would let Neil “see” colors. The camera you see on Neil’s head converts colors into sound waves, allowing him to “hear” colors. With the gadget, Neil is able to see 360 color hues and color saturation, allowing him to create art like the one displayed below. This is the interpretation of Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor, whose soundwaves Neil converted to color to present his painting. |

About the Artist:
Neil Harbisson suffers from achromatopsia, so he can only see the world in black and white. He is an artist, studying fine arts so the shortcoming would appear even more of a problem. Not exactly for Neil, who happens to be a cyborg, utilizing technology to see colors he wouldn’t be able to perceive otherwise. Also, he is the first person to be recognized as a cyborg by a government. |
