Marco Gioseppe [Giuseppe, Marco Gioseppi, Marco Gioseffo, Marco Gioseffe] Peranda [Perandi, Perande] was an Italian composer. He went to Dresden as a court singer in the 1650's and rose to become Kapellmeister in 1663 and principal Hofkapellmeister in 1672. He wrote mainly church music, including a St Mark Passion once thought to be by Heinrich Schütz (1585-1672). The performing material for a Kyrie in C major by Peranda was copied for J.S. Bach's use in Weimar. |
