History & Mission: |
The Tallinn Bach Music Festival has grown from the series of daily organ concerts which are held during the 1st week of January in the Tallinn Niguliste museum (Church of St. Nicholas). The festival has become a tradition and an original, warm and beautiful New Year's greeting of Tallinn to all the inhabitants and visitors of our capital.
During the 2nd Tallinn New Year's Festival in 2013, 13 different concerts were held. More than 20 soloists among which were Andres Uibo, Ulla Krigul, Ene Salumäe, Denis Kasparovitch, Andres Mustonen, Mari-Liis Uibo, Arvo Leibur, Kädy Plaas, Anto Õnnis, Ka Bo Chan, Tõnis Kaumann, Aarne Ots, Oksana Sinkova, Olev Ainomäe and others performed on these concerts. The famous Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir under direction of conductor Daniel Reuss (Holland) and foreign guest-organists Edouard Oganessian (France) and Peter Van Dijk (Holland) took part in this Festival.

The 4th Tallinn Bach Music Festival will take place on January 1-7, 2015. For the fourth time, Tallinn will celebrate The New Year’s with the sounds of J.S. Bach, the great German composer.
A total of 16 different concerts are taking place during the 4th Tallinn Bach Music Festival. More than 30 famous musicians among which are Andres Uibo, Ulla Krigul, Denis Kasparovitch, Aare-Paul Lattik, Peter van Dijk (Holland), Edouard Oganessian (France) ja Roman Perucki (Poland), Lembit Orgse, Mari-Liis Uibo ja Arvo Leibur, Kady Plaas, Ka Bo Chan, Anto Õnnis, Tonis Kaumann, Oksana Sinkova, orchestra "Glasperlenspiel Sinfonietta" and others will perform on these concerts. Conductor - Toomas Vavilov.
Organ, orchestra, vocal and instrumental works, was well as choral music and Christmas and New Year’s cantatas by J.S. Bach will be performed at the concert. |
