Founded in 1989, with the aim of helping young musicians to grow and develop their talent, the Academy has attained worldwide fame thanks to the excellence of its teaching philosophy, which has resulted in over sixty first prizes in the most prestigious international piano competitions having been won by its students. No other piano school can boast of such an achievement. During the last several years the school has also, in addition to piano, offered tuition in fortepiano, flute, violin, violoncello, chamber music, composition and conducting. Students of the Academy come from all around the world.

Festival da Bach a Bartok a Imola

Festival da Bach a Bartok (Festival from Bach to Bartok) was born as an offshoot of the prestigious Accademia Pianistica di Imola. Under the artistic direction of Giorgio Zagnoni, this international festival of musical interpretation is now a highly anticipated event by the audience passionate about music quality. With the artistic direction of Maestro Giorgio Zagnoni, teacher and performer of international stature, the festival relies on the organization of the Centro Studi Euterpe Mousikè and the contribution of Regione Emilia-Romagna, the Province of Bologna and the City of Imola.
Dual intent: to present to the public the national piano works of the most significant literature bicentennial including emblematically between J.S. Bach and Béla Bartók, promote events with high cultural level some less frequented places of the city.
