The German soprano, Cornelia Zink, studied music at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg, where she completed her studies in opera class with excellent success. She deepened their knowledge with Professor KS Gudrun Volkert and finished in 2004 the Lied class with Professor Wolfgang Holzmair with honours. She attended master-classes by Sherill Milnes and Barbara Bonney and received in 2000 the Szél Gianna Scholarship from the Salzburg Mozarteum.
Already during her studies she was enaged as a guest for three years at the Theater Augsburg, where she appeared in roles as Gretchen in Wildschütz and Marja in Egk's Revisor. The Bad Ischl Operetta Festival she made her debut as as Christel von der Post in Der Vogelhändler and in the following years she had remarkable successes as Juliette in Der Graf von Luxemburg and as Adele in Die Fledermaus. In the summer festival of 2005, she made her Vienna debut as Franziska Cagliari in Wiener Blut.
In the 2003-2004 season, Cornelia Zink made her debut as Ciboletta in Eine Nacht in Venedig at the Staatstheater Cottbus, where she has been an opera ensemble member since March 2005. She could be heard there as Zerlina in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Valenciennes in Lehár's Die lustige Witwe, Mädchen in Der kleine Muck and Musetta in Puccini's La Bohème, among others.
In summer 2006, Cornelia Zink gave a Mozart concert at the Wiener Stephansdom. Her concert activity at home and abroad in the fields of oratorio and Lieder, and as a soloist in numerous operas and orchestral concerts have given her the possibility to continue exapanding her repertoire. In the last season she sang with great success in the oratorios Theodora by George Frideric Handel, Jahreszeiten by J. Haydn, Magnificat (BWV 243) by J.S. Bach, Matthäus-Passion (BWV 244) by J.S. Bach and Carmina Burana by C. Orff. |
